Family Connection in an Age of Screens
In an age where kids are glued to devices, it can be hard to experience family connection in a fun and engaging way.
As the pressures of life intensify, it proves more and more challenging to prioritise well-being through slow dopamine and boost happy hormones in a world where instant gratification is at the centre.
We’re so grateful that our SunFyr Families are open to new ways of supporting authentic connection in small everyday ways, which is why nervous system regulation and holistic well-being are the foundation of our ethos.
Helping your child boost Happy Hormones Naturally
Slow Dopamine
Through engaging in mindful activities such as art and creativity, we can enable kids from a young age to experience slow dopamine. Unlike fast, fleeting dopamine from digital stimulation, slow dopamine builds lasting motivation, stabilises mood, and restores the brain's reward sensitivity - all while being an outlet for emotions, ideas, and imagination.
Oxytocin
Social interaction with other children and members of the family can help boost oxytocin, reducing stress and allowing them to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest).
Serotonin
Regulating and boosting serotonin can be done through moving the body, particularly in activities such as yoga where stretching, meditation and breath work integrate to boost serotonin production.
